When it comes to using electronic devices of any kind, from the Macbook Pro to the iPhone 6, what tops the list of most peoples' concerns is the battery life. With its latest generation of products, Apple has gone a long way to making sure that the battery lasts as long as possible.

Of course, this only matters as long as people are willing to use the machines properly. While a battery might be good in theory, the device will not be effective if it is constantly drained by a person that is not operating apps — such as video — efficiently. This can even mean changing up what internet browser you use.

While reviewing the newest Macbook Pro, Vlad Savov, a senior tech writer for website The Verge, found that the computer's battery would last longer depending entirely on what internet browser was being operated. Some were more conducive to a long and productive battery life than others.

In a piece written for the tech website, Savov discussed the varying times a Macbook Pro's battery would last under similar circumstances, changing only the internet browser that was being used. Savov then listed how long his computer was able to stay operational before needing to be plugged in to a power source.

Keeping the screen brightness at 65 percent, the Macbook Pro lasted 13 hours and 18 minutes before it switched off using Apple's own Safari browser, while it could only remain on for nine hours and 45 minutes using Google Chrome.

"Not to put too fine a point on it, but this is insane," writes Savov. "It's the same exact computer. The battery, the processor, the memory — nothing changes but the web browser and the MacBook's endurance is suddenly scythed down by a whopping three and a half hours."
