Not everyone is in the market for over-the-top, high-performance, ultra-high resolution laptop, especially when budget, nor need, justifies dropping a couple of grand on a high-end machine with all the bells and whistles.

Fortunately, there are budget-friendly alternatives, under a thousand dollars, that still pack a punch, and aren’t too shabby to look at either.

While this particular, and customizable configuration of the CX62 doesn’t have an SSD, and lacks UHD or 4K display resolution, it has a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce 940M GPU with 2GB of video memory, capable of driving graphically intensive games, as well as image editing applications.

Video editing is another story, of if you are planning on doing any video editing, some upgrades are required, such as switching the HDD for an SSD, and doubling the memory. With that said, this is a very respectable laptop to use around the office, at school, and for home entertainment.
