Under Marissa Mayer’s new leadership, the company is beginning to take bolder steps, and the elimination of third party sign-ins is a clear indication of Mayer’s determination in rebuilding and strengthening the company from the inside, and re-establish it as a solid, stand-alone entity.

The biggest blow into Android’s market domination by iOS, is expected to be “Continuity”, an ingenious app that lets iOS users work and share documents seamlessly between iOS and MacOS. Even more amazing is the feature that allows iOS users to “patch through” iPhone calls to a Mac.

Broadcom and Marvell are only two companies mentioned by Apple at the WWDC, but there are many more looking to create the next generation of home automation devices, in an industry expected to be worth as much as 14.4 Trillion dollars.

If indeed the Apple iWatch turns out to have a near field communication chip, the landscape of point of sale credit card payments is about to change, even more so if the iWatch indeed is able to function as a stand-alone device, as opposed to a paired one, like nearly every other smartwatch on the market.
