Android Wear’s key features include health tracking, voice-activated ride-sharing, and navigation, which are destined to be major battlefields of wearable device manufacturers.

Apple is expected to release widely different models, with different functionalities. Some targeting athletes a fitness enthusiasts, which seems to be a higher priority for the company at the moment. Alternative models will potentially include designs appealing to a male and female audience respectively, and these might break down into more categories, which we speculate could include business users, music lovers, and more.

While the release of the iWatch still tentatively set for Fall this year, is it understandable how Apple may need to take its time with a service that has the potential to affect not only consumers, but also future healthcare legislations, as the iWatch, or any other HealthKit supported device released by Apple, could be more than a gadget, but a tool for physicians to diagnose patients quicker and more accurately, even on the field.

The question could be just how many iPhone features will be controlled by the iWatch. From a consumer point of view, if Apple hopes to have a grand debut into the wearable tech market, it needs to focus on allowing as much control as possible of the most familiar apps, or at least the ones available on iCloud.
