Although it has been less than a month since the release of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Apple is not quite done with their major announcements for the year. While the Apple Watch is slated to be officially unveiled and sold early next year, the tech giant will be updating a few other parts of their massively popular product line. On Thursday, October 16, all eyes will once again be on Tim Cook as he discusses the latest in what Apple has to offer.

What can we expect from the Cupertino gathering later this week? Insiders are saying that Cook will discuss the next iterations of their iPad and Mac lines. While the iPhone has been getting all of the attention for the past few months, there have been multiple reports that there will be a next-generation iPad, as well as a new version of the Apple iMac that will come fully-equipped with a retina display. There is not as much secrecy surrounding this event as there was for the iPhone release.

The iPad Air is rumored to include several of the advancements made with the iPhone 6, including the addition of Touch ID and the soon-to-be-available Apple Pay. In addition to these new enhancements, the body of the tablet itself will be slimmer and lighter. It will likely be available in three colors - gold, space gray and silver. There are also some reports that the iPad mini will be improved upon, though not released until later in 2015.
