Ashton Kutcher, the television and film actor who has recently made forays into the technology sector, has been hired by Lenovo to serve as a product engineer and brand ambassador. Kutcher will help the company develop new tablet products that have greater appeal to consumers, while also helping to promote their products to a wider U.S. audience.

Kutcher's involvement with technology began recently with the founding of his venture capital fund A-Grade Investments, which has small stakes in many successful startups including Airbnb, Foursquare, Spotify, Path and Uber. Kutcher is also well known for having played Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in a recent movie. He also has a highly visible presence on Twitter, as his account currently has over 15 million followers.

"If you look at my career, what's constant is I like to take risks — so does Lenovo," Kutcher told USA Today. "Lenovo makes really, really, really good hardware. I hope to make their products as consumer friendly as possible."

Lenovo isn't the only Chinese firm to hire a celebrity to back its products. Huawei Technologies was one of the sponsors for a Jonas Brothers tour and tech company ZTE has entered into a partnership with the Houston Rockets National Basketball Association team.

Lenovo has been making high quality laptops with Windows for years, and their latest products provide businesses with an excellent platform for a variety of high-powered tasks.
