Chances are that, these days, watching a video or clip on YouTube has become a part of your weekly routine. This video-sharing site contains a huge variety of content from all over the world. Whether you want to learn how to do the Harlem Shake or tie a tie, the clips hosted on YouTube can both show and teach just about anything.

In fact, so many of us have been taking our customized laptops and logging on to YouTube recently that the site has just reached a huge milestone. According to a statement issued on the YouTube blog on Wednesday, March 20, the video sharing service has now reached 1 billion monthly average users. That means that when you post something on YouTube, it has the potential to be seen by 15 percent of the world's population.

To put that huge number in context, the folks at YouTube gave some comparisons in their statement. They pointed out that the monthly YouTube viewership is the size of about 10 Super Bowl audiences, meaning that the sheer size of viewers is making a huge impact on the kind of media we consume every day.

YouTube attributes this gigantic viewership to the growing phenomenon of multi-screen viewing. It's not that consumers are turning to their mobile device or iPad mini to watch things instead of using the TV, rather, they're using both at the same time. This means that we all like to take in more information at a time, and a social viewing site like YouTube feeds into that perfectly.

If your device can't keep up with all of the content on YouTube, you're definitely missing out. Contact a specialist at PortableOne today and we'll help you get the customized laptop or iPad that you need to get online fast.
