According to a new report, Apple is going to launch two new versions of the iPhone by the end of this year. The rumors stem from information that was first found in the publication Industrial and Commercial Times, a leading news source, and was later picked up by a Japanese technology website and the reputable MacRumors. As with any launches of its new technology, though, Apple is remaining tight-lipped about whether or not a new iPhone will hit the stands this year.

The reports claim that the iPhone 6, with a 4.7-inch display, will be announced as early as July, with a larger 5.5-inch version unveiled in September. Both of these phones will allegedly go on sale during the fourth financial quarter of 2014, with the 4.7 inch version to hit stands first. The speculation of two iPhones being released this year goes back to January, though it would buck the trend of the company's typical September announcement.

What has those in the industry interested in a new iPhone is the increased display size, as Apple has not constructed a bigger screen for its smart phones since the release of the iPhone 5 with a 4 inch display in 2012. In the following time, other smart phone producers have increased screen sizes and seen their market shares grow. The report speculates Apple will have to follow this trend in order to retain its technology market dominance.
