In the international market, Apple is beginning to relaunch some of its older products. After the introduction of its newest version of the iPad - the iPad Air - in October 2013, the company had discontinued production of the iPad 4, which had been unveiled to the public just a year earlier. Instead of outright replacing the iPad 2, the second generation of the iPad, it was simply sold at a highly-discounted rate, with most Apple stores selling the product for less than $400.

Now, however, Apple will be stopping production of the iPad 2 for the near future. The iPad 4 will be put back into production and sold at the same price as the iPad 2, giving people a less expensive - but still advanced - alternative tablet to the iPad Air. This is only available for international Apple customers in Australia, China and a select few European countries.

Apple is switching their tablets in order to increase its market share, as tablets that use Apple's iOS system controls 36 percent of the market, trailing Google Android and its 62 percent share. In addition to replacing the iPad 2 with the iPad 4, Apple also announced it would be making a less expensive version of the iPhone 5C - with 8 GB instead of the standard 16 - available for purchase in France and Germany.
