In the wake of Apple’s keynote, there is no doubt that the Apple iPad Pro and Microsoft’s Surface Pro are going to be in direct competition with each other. While Microsoft has yet to make any formal announcement in regard to the Surface Pro 4, Apple is clearly expecting Microsoft to update its flagship tablet PC with specs designed to outshine the current version, and also, to proactively tackle a next version of the Surface Pro, likely to feature considerably higher specs, at least according to the latest rumors.

Microsoft Windows 10’s first non-patch update, initially scheduled to be released in October, under the codename of “Threshold 2”, has been pushed back to November, and will contain many of the features included in the current Windows Preview Build, recently issued to insiders.

The numbers are in. According to Microsoft, as many as 1.5 devices have downloaded and activated copies of Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise edition.

According to Seagate Technology, Asus and a number of other major players are reporting an upturn in PC sales, which could potentially follow a strengthening of the market. This impression is further corroborated by tech analysis firm Moor Insight & Strategy’s Patrick Moorhead, who believes that this upturn is only the beginning.
