You’ll never guess who makes one of the best keyboards for Apple iPad

Samsung is not the only tech giant engaged in a love/hate relationship with Apple. Lest we forget Microsoft’s never ending on-again, off-again love affair with Cupertino’s top tech brand.

For better or worse, Microsoft was always committed to Apple, at least in certain aspects, especially when it came to consumers, both in hardware(heart) and software(soul).

In regard to software, Microsoft has always been consistent with producing Mac versions of its flagship software, from MS Office to Internet Explorer and beyond. The trend persists today, even amid TV commercial spats and zingers, that to those who know both Microsoft and Apple’s history, are, while unsubtly, very much in gest.

The latest big gesture from Microsoft to Apple’s users came in the form of one of the best designed, most user-friendly versions of Microsoft Office, for Apple iPad Pro.

The software suite features support for Apple Pencil, and makes it extremely easy to create all sorts of complex documents, such as dynamic charts, presentations, and more, at the tap of your finger, or the flick of a Pencil.

Microsoft was never shy about wearing its hardware on a sleeve for Apple as well, with a history of making Mac-compatible hardware as far back as the 1980s, with expansion cards and accessories as well, prior to any other third party manufacturer.

Fast-forward to 2017, Microsoft is once again making a name for itself as a hardware maker for Apple products, with one of the best designed Apple iPad keyboards available.

The “Microsoft Universal Foldable Keyboard”, comes as close to a love letter to Apple, as it gets, and this product truly is a thing of beauty.

Designed to work across a wide range of devices, including iPad, iPhone, Android, Windows 10 tablets (which by extension includes any Windows 10 PC with Bluetooth), and Windows Phone, this keyboard is lighter and thinner than other comparable Bluetooth keyboard, measuring 5 mm at its thickest point, and when folded in two, it fits in pockets or purses with ease.

This accessory connects to devices using Bluetooth 4.0, although it’s unclear whether a 4.2 upgrade would have any effect of battery life. With that said, power management couldn’t get any easier, as the keyboard shuts down automatically when folded. Also, the built-in rechargeable battery lasts up to three months on a single charge, which is actual usage, and not just standby.

The greatest thing about this keyboard is that it’s full-size, minus the numeric pad, which is good news for those looking for as PC-like as possible an experience.

Finally, a great perk for users of the go, is a spill-resistant design featuring water-repellent materials.
