Train your biceps with this larger-than-life game controller for the 12.9 inch Apple iPad Pro

Train your biceps with this larger-than-life game controller for the 12.9 inch Apple iPad Pro

If you are big on iOS games, and play often on your iPad, you may already know about Gamevice, a controller that, as the name suggests, grips both sides of an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch, and turns the device of choice into one big iOS powered Gameboy.

Up until now, the only device left out of the loop has been the 12 inch version of the iPad Pro, because, let’s face it... it would make it for a comically huge game pad.

Alas, Gamevice is not the one to shy away from the impossible, and went on to create the biggest Gamevice version yet, designed to enhance the 12.9 inch iPad Pro, and turn it into something that will remind older generations that last time they used a bigger controller than that, they were in a shopping mall, and had a pocket full of quarters.

Just like the 9.7 inch version, the new Gamevice controller comes in two units that grip both sides of the iPad, but unlike previous versions, this controller does not come with an internal battery, as it is powered by the iPad itself, through the device’s Lightning port.

For those unfamiliar with Gamevice’s line of plug-in controllers, these are not unlike most regular controllers for Xbox and similar consoles, and include a standard set of X-Y-A-B option buttons, dual joysticks, and directional buttons.

On iPads and other iOS devices, these controllers are built to allow access to the home button, as well as leave the camera unobstructed, the latter of which is a nice touch, even if we can’t think of a reason for it, unless iOS games come with multiplayer options that support live video chat.

While battery life might not be a concern with accessories like these, especially connected to the 12.9 inch iPad Pro’s hefty 9-hour, prolonged gaming might require daily weight-lifting sessions, to develop adequate muscle mass, at the very least, for racing games.

This larger-than-life iPad Pro controller comes with a larger-than-life price tag of $99.95, for those with the stamina to actually use it.
