This concept 2015 Apple iMac will take you back in time

New 2015 Apple iMacThere is a ghost of a chance that this iMac will ever see the light of day, yet, it might just be the most beautiful tribute to the Mac we have seen so far.

The retro-inspired design belongs to German-based Curved/Labs. The company took a tech history icon, in the form of 1984 Apple Macintosh Lisa, and re-imagined it according to the latest Apple design trends.

The result is nothing short of spectacular. Our initial impression was that of looking at a pencil sketch of the 1984 iconic computer. From the side, Lisa’s outline is very reminiscent of Steve Jobs purpose behind the original design. Jobs wanted computers to be user-friendly, so he gave the Mac a face, by arranging front-facing components and features, like the screen and the 3.5 inch disk drive.

In this concept, the same has been accomplished with components from a Macbook Air 11 inches, whose display was converted into a touchscreen. If such concept ever would be allowed to become an actual product, it would be expected to feature 128GB built-in storage and an intel i7 chip. The body has been rendered in Apple’s three current color options for most of its new devices, gold, silver and space gray, which makes it eerily realistic.

The thin design, which is the result of trimming out the bulk behind the front-facing outline, bridges the gap between Lisa and modern Apple products, specifically the Macbook Air. The back of the device also features the illuminated Apple icon.

Among other fictional features, there is the built-in FaceTime camera, Lightning ports, USB 3.0, and built-in battery, as well as the standard audio jack, speakers and microphone.
