The Touch Bar on your MacBook Pro now supports Microsoft Office

Touch Bar support for Microsoft Office on the latest MacBook Pro was announced initially in October of last year, at the very same event in which the new Apple MacBook Pro laptops were unveiled.

At last, owners of the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar will be able to access many features and options available levels-deep within the productivity suite, directly from the LCD touch strip at the bottom of their displays.

Among some of the options available to MS Office users, there is a number of special layouts and templates for Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as the ability to insert images, hyperlinks and other items into documents, and finally, app-specific controls for Powerpoint, among the major features available.

The Touch Bar provides finer, more precise ways to position, scale and rotate embedded objects in a variety of documents.

Microsoft is planning to extend Touch Bar support also to Skype For Business, and Outlook very soon, and join the Pantheon of major applications that already enjoy the higher level of interactivity provided by the new MacBook’s Touch Bar, such as Adobe Photoshop, and Final Cut Pro.

To upgrade to the new Touch Bar-enabled upgrade of Microsoft Office on your MacBook Pro, simply check for updates in the Help menu within MS Office, or through the Mac Apps Store for available updates.
