Gabe Aul to Windows 10 insiders: New builds are coming

It’s been awhile, since the last major Windows 10 Preview build, 11082, was released, and Windows 10 insiders are getting impatient. Microsoft had announced that as of 2016, new builds would be released at a much faster pace, which is making Insiders a little anxious.

With that said, it’s entirely possible that it might be be a matter of days: “A few more days. Once we actually *start* flighting in 2016, then we expect to see more frequent builds than last year,” is Gabe Aul’s response to a Windows Insider inquiring about when the new builds will be available.

The builds that will follow, are also expected to be part of this Summer’s update, Redstone. The major update will bring extensions to Microsoft’s Edge browser, a feature much anticipated, especially by developers looking to start creating productivity extensions for the new browser, and hopefully boost its popularity among users, with other improvements as well.

Since Microsoft has officially retired all versions of Internet Explorer aside from IE11, the company has invested a lot in the development of Microsoft Edge. Support for IE11 is still active for the moment, although the company is considering making it available exclusively to enterprise customers, as a legacy tool.

Other improvements will involve the Windows 10 user interface, as well as a number of bug fixes, to improve the usability and solidity of the operating system.
