Apple iPad Pro: officially available online Wednesday, could begin shipping by this weekend.
This morning at 8:00 am Eastern Standard Time, Apple has officially issued a press release, announcing online availability of the Apple iPad Pro, effective Wednesday November 11, to be extended to stores worldwide, online and brick-and-mortar, by the end of this week.
Along with the brand new tablet, Apple will also release the new Smart Keyboard and the Apple Pencil, the latter of which has managed to raise a few eyebrows at its unveiling, marking the second time in the history of Apple, to release a device featuring a stylus pen.
Featuring a 12.9 inch Retina display, the iPad Pro has been designed to measure in width as much as the height of an iPad Air. This is to allow enough screen real estate, to display side apps, next to main applications, simultaneously, through iOS 9’s split-screen feature, which allows special multi-touch controls, enabling the user to scroll two different apps, simultaneously, and independently from each other.
A new 64-bit A9X processor has been introduced with the new device, which, according to Apple, allows for faster processing than most portable PCs.
According to the testimonials featured on Apple’s press release, the iPad Pro is a product designed to excel in creative environments. Coupled with the Apple Pencil, the iPad Pro enables sketching, drawing, writing and painting, as well as advanced editing abilities, through advanced apps, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, FiftyThree Paper, and Procreate 3. These apps have all been redesigned to take full advantage of the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil’s hardware.
The full range of Microsoft Office apps has also been reinvented to work with the iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil, providing advanced editing abilities across the entire productivity suite.

iPad Pro has been available to order at Portable One starting at $799. In its basic white iteration, the apple Pencil will be available for $99. The Apple Smart Keyboard, designed to be compatible with the iPad Pro, will be available in charcoal grey, for $169. For a limited time only, Portable One is offering a discount for pre-orders of the new iPad Pro for on-line orders.
Smart covers will also be available, fitting the size of the iPad Pro, and manufactured in polyurethane, priced at $59. Silicone cases will be available for $79. Both covers and cases will be available in charcoal grey or white.
