Adobe Photoshop Lightroom free for android users, after free iOS version

Professional photographers, and enthusiasts are in for a treat, as Adobe has made its flagship photo-enhancement app Photoshop Lightroom, available to all iOS, users, for free, no strings attached, which has been available since October, and finally, Android as well.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for Apple iPad Pro

Users of the desktop version of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, will be familiar with the range of features available on the app. While the mobile version may not be as sophisticated as on the desktop, the list of what can be done with the app is pretty extensive compared to most photography apps in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Just like the desktop version, Lightroom comes with support for High-Dynamic Range images, as well as all the fine adjustments expected by the desktop version of the app, including white balance, temperature, tint, exposure, contrast, and settings. Aside from the basic photographic tools, the app also comes with a full range of presets and filters, as well as the ability to save personalized user settings to be used in batch.

Free for iPad Pro and Android Tablets too

After Microsoft’s unveiling of Office 2016 at the Apple iPad Pro keynote event, owners of the iPad Pro, have learned that they will be required to have an active Office subscription in order to use the productivity suite on their devices, as the iPad Pro, according to Microsoft terms of use, falls within the definition of a desktop device, due to the size of the display being over 11 inches.

Adobe doesn’t seem to apply the same restrictions, as the only feature that requires a Creative Cloud subscription on mobile devices, whether they are running iOS or Android, is access to the Creative Cloud service itself. This means that iPad Pro users, as well as users of other oversized tablets like the Samsung Galaxy View, will be able to use Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for free, as long as they stick to editing content that is present on their devices local folders.

Active subscribers, however, enjoy quite a few additional perks, such as access to their libraries, across all their devices, including photos that have been edited using the desktop version of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.

Another advantage of an active subscription is the ability to sync metadata and modifications, across all devices, through Adobe CreativeSync.
