As anybody familiar with technology knows, the industry is constantly reinventing and improving itself. Whether you purchase a Macbook Pro from Apple or a custom laptop from Microsoft, eventually all devices become outdated and need to be updated. There are plenty of people who resist these upgrades, or even complain if they do not approve of changes to an operating system. But those people risk being left behind by the tech giants, whether they like it or not.

In recent weeks, Microsoft has renewed its public efforts to get those who still run their laptops with windows on the Windows XP platform to upgrade to the newer Windows 8. In their company blog post, Microsoft has let people know that, as of April 8th, the XP operating system will no longer be protected by the company's tech support. This will include files that are lost or damaged, viruses that attack a computer or anything else that could potentially go wrong.

While this is not welcome news to those who would prefer to stay on the operating systems they are used to, Microsoft insists they are simply looking out in the best interest of the consumer, to make sure that their computer remains protected and can run at optimum levels without fear of costly internal damages.
