Infographic reveals that iOS devices are major jetsetters

Everybody knows that the sleek, light design of Apple products like the iPhone, iPad and iPad mini have helped to make them ultra-portable. After all, these devices are preferred by several business professionals for that reason exactly. But, it turns out that they are also the overwhelming favorite of those who like to surf at 40,000 feet. A new infographic released by Gogo, an in-flight Wi-Fi provider, broke down the most common operating devices that accessed wireless internet in the air.

In total, mobile devices make up 67 percent of the gadgets being used to access the internet while flying, though customized laptops are still popular as well, accounting for 33 percent of all use. Apple has a major share of the mobile devices being used to go online, with the very popular iOS accounting for 86 percent of access. Rival mobile operating system Android makes up the remaining 14 percent of gadgets being used to access the internet in the sky though Gogo.

Once online, the majority of travelers accessed Wi-Fi to surf the internet and go through personal emails. Other popular activities included using social media, checking sports scores and doing some shopping. For business travelers, however, internet use was far more professional. Respondents reported having used their internet access to go through work emails, finalize reports and check out the weather of their destination.

Though it comes as no surprise to a true Apple fan, studies like this one help to prove that Apple is among the best brands, especially for business professionals.
