You can finally play Minecraft on Apple TV

Minecraft on Apple TV

Microsoft has promised a version of Minecraft for Apple TV, and finally, it’s now available, for owners of Apple’s latest advanced set top box. This edition of Minecraft can be streamed into Apple TV, for $19.99, and the game can be played using Apple TV’s Siri Remote, or an iPhone paired with Apple TV.

It goes without saying that this brand new version of Minecraft “for living rooms”, comes with special content and features available for a limited time, just in time for the holidays. The set includes Holiday 2015, Town Folk, City Folk Skin PAck, Plastic Natural, Cartoon, and Festive 2016.

Just like for the Microsoft Windows 10 edition, the Ender Update will also be rolled out players on Apple TV.

Microsoft’s owned publisher Mojiang has released an Education edition of Minecraft, back in November, which should also be available to Apple TV users.

The Education Edition is designed to enable educators to manage Minecraft worlds settings, and to communicate with students, in virtual classrooms created within Minecraft.

Ever since Minecraft was acquired by Microsoft, the game has gone through several updates and enhancements, and grew its already substantial number of players to almost 24 millions, with an average of a million people, playing Minecraft at any given time, worldwide. Furthermore, it has also provided players with a stream of income. By setting up Buycraft, players can buy and sell items through e-commerce platforms.

Considering the staggering popularity of this game, whose stats page shows, at the time of this writing, over 6,400 copies sold within a single hour, Apple has everything to gain by making Minecraft available to Apple TV users, who will be enjoying playing it on any size TV screen, and at a resolution and definition far higher than it would be possible on a tablet or a smartphone.

While Minecraft Realms, which allows players from Android, iOS, and Windows 10 devices to play Minecraft together, simultaneously, is not yet available, Mojang is planning to implement the feature soon.
