Windows 10 update history section is now available

One of the biggest pet-peeves of users who have commented on their experience with Windows 10, has been Windows Update, or better yet, the lack of detail, in reference to what fixes and modifications these updates are bringing to the users, aside from obvious UI related improvements. The issue has caused a fair bit of of controversy among power-users who have been clamoring for more transparency:

Microsoft Windows Update History

“..In response to this feedback, we’re providing more details about the Windows 10 updates we deliver through Windows Update. You'll see a summary of important product developments included in each update, with links to more details. This page will be regularly refreshed, as new updates are released...”, reads the text on the support page.

At last, Microsoft has quietly introduced a new section, titled Windows 10 Update History, within the How-to category of the official Windows support site, which can be found here.

Microsoft has already began updating the support document, with detailed information starting with the original version of Windows 10 released July 29th 2015, covering a breakdown of the cumulative updates KB3135174, and KB3135173.

The updates feature a series of fixes that include authentication, update installation, and operating system installation, as well as Edge browser improvements. Other updates include fixes for issues affecting simultaneous installation of apps from the Windows Store, Groove Music, and the DotNet framework, the latter of which has gone through a series of quick incremental updates in the past few weeks.

The desktop version of Microsoft Windows 10 is not the only one for which Microsoft is providing extended updates documentation. Windows 10 Mobile users will soon see more detailed information on Windows updates being issued to their devices as well, as a support page has also been created, soon to be filled with current information on the latest cumulative updates for Lumia smartphones and other mobile devices powered by Windows 10.
