Apple’s brand new MacBook Pro lineup was dealt a bit of criticism concerning the tech giant’s decision to ax a number of features that will no longer be seen in Apple laptops starting this year. The decision to replace all ports and connectors on the new MacBook Pro with USB Type C ports was not an easy one to make, yet, the benefits of USB Type-C outweigh the loss of legacy ports, with one perk: which is the ability to ability to charge the MacBook Pro through anyone of the four USB-C ports available on the 15 inch model, and any of the two USB Type-C ports available on the 13 inch MacBook Pro.

The USB Type-C standard, not only allows to connect and power peripherals up to 100 Watts, like external displays and external drives, without the need for additional power cords. IT can also use the same input power to charge a MacBook Pro, faster, and more efficiently than any MagSafe power adapter.

Accessories manufacturer FINsix has recently unveiled a thin-and-light charger for, designed for the MacBook Pro’s USB Type-C ports which the manufacturer calls “the world’s smallest charger for USB Type-C laptops”.

With a price tag of $99, the DART charger comes in five colors: dark gray, sky blue, purple, orange and light gray, and it’s 2.75 inches in length, and 1.1 inches wide. The small size of DART has several advantages, including the fact that it plays nice with other plugs on tighter power strips and multiple outlets where typical power adapters tend to hog adjacent sockets.

Another big perk is the ability to charge other devices, simultaneously as the MacBook Pro, including iPhones, iPads and even other Mac laptops, like the 12 inch MacBook Retina.

According to FINsix website, DART will ship as soon as January 2017, and will retail for $99 in stores worldwide.
