Apple aims to appeal to consumers with new 2014 Entry Level iMac

Apple’s new found love for consumers on a budget is now official. We have observed the high-end consumer tech manufacturer retarget its efforts, early on, with the surprise move of releasing different versions of its iPhone, effectively adjusting its reach to include shoppers who don't need super computing power.

Apple’s strategy must have worked, as it is now the iMac’s turn to get re-worked into a more palatable size for smaller budgets.

The “entry level” 21.5 inches edition of the iMac, announced today, June 18 2014, hits the market with a $1,099 price tag.

Apple didn’t skimp on the specs, and worked extra-hard to offer a great package at a lower price compared to its existing iMac offering.

The new iMac is powered by a 1.4Ghz Intel i5 dual core processor, featuring Turbo Boost, which can increase the speed up to 2.7Ghz.Intel provides graphic support with its powerful HD 5000.

The unit comes with 8Gb of RAM, a standard $500Gb hard drive, 802.11ac WiFi (as with every iMac), two thunderbolt ports, and 4 USB 3.0 ports, making this entry level machine a very attractive package with great potentials for peripheral expansion.

The current “Configure To Order”(CTO) options available are 1Tb hard drive, 1Tb Fusion Drive, and 256Mb flash storage.
